About

David Wolkowitz is an Illinois family law attorney and Chicago divorce lawyer. While he handles contested matters, he has devoted substantial time to streamlining the process of an uncontested divorce in Illinois. He is the attorney with the Wolkowitz Law office that practices in Illinois, including in the following counties: Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Will, Champaign, Sangamon, and Madison.

Prior to the Wolkowitz Law Office, Mr. Wolkowitz worked in conjunction with numerous other firms. While in law school, Mr. Wolkowitz was a judicial extern at the Circuit Court of Cook County; there, he worked in the Domestic Relations division and the Law Division. Also during law school, Mr. Wolkowitz was a law clerk in the Juvenile Division of the Cook County Public Guardian.

Previously, Mr. Wolkowitz employed his strategic thinking, negotiation, and communications skills as a consultant, college professor, journalist, and bike messenger. His diverse professional background prior to his legal career sets him apart from many lawyers with a more narrow perspective. Mr. Wolkowitz earned his J.D. (law degree) from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was named to the Dean’s List several semesters and took advanced LL.M. (master of laws) classes in family law. He earned a master of science degree from Northwestern University, and bachelor of science degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2009, while attending a holiday party, Mr. Wolkowitz engaged (the real) Patch Adams in an argument, and won (handily).
