    How long does it take to get an uncontested divorce?

    An uncontested divorce in the Illinois counties of Champaign and Sangamon can be fairly quick – certainly quicker than fighting in court!

    Normally, an uncontested divorce takes one to two months from start to finish. How long it takes depends upon the following factors:

    1. How quickly you give necessary information to your uncontested divorce lawyer
    2. The complexity of your case
    3. How quickly you and your spouse sign necessary documents
    4. The court’s processing time for various documents
    5. The court’s availability for a court date to finalize your case
