As a divorce lawyer, I know that people interested in an uncontested divorce in Illinois what an easy way to estimate child support payments.
That’s why I build what I think is the best free Illinois child support calculator available online. While the calculator only provides an estimate of statutory child support payments, it is modeled after the financial affidavit form used in the Circuit Court of Cook County. The form, called a “13.3 Financial Affidavit” is what judges in Cook County use to gather the financial data necessary to calculate child support consistent with the statutory guidelines. If you live outside of Cook County, your county might use a different form – but the results should be very similar.
As a Chicago divorce lawyer I was appalled by the inaccurate and grossly deficient Illinois child support calculators available – most don’t even allow the user to input information necessary to generate a sufficiently accurate child support estimate. That’s why I build this calculator to be what I think is the best available. From what I can seee, most the others aren’t even built by lawyers.
